Representative Partner

Satoshi Takayama

After working at European industrial machinery and components import trading companies and at Parker Hannifin Japan, a U.S.-based hydraulic and pneumatic equipment manufacturer, he co-founded Fenetre Partners, Ltd. and assumed the role of Representative Director.

At Parker Hannifin, he served as Territory Manager for automotive components, engaging in sales and marketing activities. He contributed significantly to winning new international projects and achieving substantial growth in existing projects across Japan, the United States, and Asia (including China, South Korea, and Thailand). In recognition of these achievements, he received multiple awards from both Parker Hannifin’s U.S. headquarters and its Japan subsidiary, including Salesperson of the Year and Contributor of the Year, for three consecutive years.

At Fenetre Partners, he supported the market entry of overseas industrial machinery and components manufacturers—primarily from the United States and Germany—into the Japanese market. He led the launch and growth of Japan businesses from scratch for clients with annual revenues ranging mainly from several tens of millions dollars to over one billion, supporting more than 300 client companies in total. During his tenure, Fenetre Partners was also entrusted with numerous trade and foreign direct investment (FDI) support projects by U.S. state economic development agencies (such as those of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Virginia), as well as by the Commercial Sections of the U.S. Embassy and the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, providing Japan market entry support to local companies, primarily mid-sized and small enterprises.

Under his leadership, the company grew from two employees at inception to approximately 30 employees, and over 13 years, he helped develop Fenetre Partners into one of Japan’s leading firms specializing in Japan market entry support for foreign companies. In November 2021, he stepped down as Representative Director and assumed the role of Founder and Advisor.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Science and Engineering at Waseda University in Japan, and an MBA from Manchester Business School at The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom.
